A note about Mega RockStar and RockStar Suites

VoyageFair Choices are only applicable to Sea Terrace and below categories. That being said, starting on October 7th, there is a new benefit for anyone who books a suite — we’ve increased the pre-voyage dining booking window to 120 days prior to your voyage start so you can lock in your fave eateries, try something new, and get the very best times to work around your daily schedule.

How we care for our Crew (and you)

The two biggest reasons Sailors love us? No kids and our incredible Crew. And you’ve been asking for transparency, so we’re delivering. Here’s a quick update on how we take care of our Crew — because they’re the ones who take such great care of you.

Starting on October 7th, any new voyage booking will show service gratuities as a separate line item in your voyage fare breakdown. But don’t worry, nothing about your fare has changed — all onboard purchases have never, and will never, require added tips. Because unlike other cruise lines, we’ll never nickel-and-dime, meaning you’ll never see surprise charges for things you thought were already included, and that experience you’ve come to know and love will remain completely unchanged. Our award-winning, onboard experience will stay just as it was designed — brilliant, seamless, and transparent — because true luxury means everything is already taken care of before you step on board.

Prepaying before your voyage keeps service gratuities at the lower rate and included in your total. You can choose not to prepay, but service gratuities cost more once you’re on board.

Nothing has changed about your current booking or your fare, and there is no action you need to take whatsoever (not now, not on board!). That said, to give you more time to book your favorite restaurants and organize your dining times around your daily schedule, if you booked a Sea Terrace category or below before October 7th, your dining booking window will now open 60 days prior to your voyage (from 45!). And if you booked a suite before October 7th, your booking window will open up to 120 prior to your voyage.

Not at all. Your Sailing Club Blue Extras (BE) and Deep Blue Extras (DBE) will apply to all full fare bookings — just as they always have. Your loyalty perks sail right along with you, no matter which fare option you choose.

A few things to know:
 
  • Earning & Qualification: Every full fare voyage counts toward your number of sailings in the Sailing Club.
  • Perks on Any Fare: You’ll continue to receive your Blue Extras or Deep Blue Extras benefits on any full fare option, as well as on Lock-It-Rate bookings.
So whether you’re sailing for the first time or your tenth, you’ll always enjoy your well-earned loyalty perks.

If you’ve sailed with us before, things will feel very familiar. Every fare — Base, Essential, or Premium — still includes Virgin Voyages’ signature “Always Included Luxury”: 20+ eateries, world-class entertainment, group fitness classes, Wi-Fi, and unlimited soda & water.

The Essential fare is our sweet spot and most closely matches what you’ve experienced before. It offers the same flexibility, 45-day dining booking window, and Classic Wi-Fi you already know and love — making it the natural choice if you want today’s experience to continue.

For Sailors looking for even more flexibility and priority perks, you can always level up to Premium. Base, meanwhile, is simply a more accessible way to come aboard, with fewer booking perks but the same 

All our fare options include over $1,000 in value — what we call our signature Always Included Luxuries. Dining at our 20+ eateries, entertainment, unlimited group fitness classes, WiFi and soda & water — are always included on every single voyage.

Much of what’s new is being introduced in our Base and Premium fares regarding flexibility, WiFi tiers, and access to pre-voyage dining booking windows — while our Essential fare retains what Sailors know and love today.

Our Base fare is a new non-refundable fare that includes our new Basic WiFi tier — offering social media, messaging, and limited browsing. Base fares also receive a dining booking window closer to the voyage date, 15 days before sailing. These fares do not allow for changes to names, cabin or dates, making it an option for those Sailors seeking more value.

Our Premium fare, along with retaining everything from the Essential fare, levels Sailors up and introduces a new 60-day dining booking window for Sea Terrace categories and below. In addition, we’ve created a priority support phone line for pre-voyage support. The Premium fare also includes Premium WiFi for 2 devices and a daily drinks credit. This is the go-to option for those who want extra perks!

The Essential fare retains all the benefits of what our Sailors love about Virgin Voyages – Classic WiFi and a 45-day dining booking window. We had made a minor update to flexibility, allowing for name changes for Sailors 2 to 4 (removing the ability to change Sailor 1). Sailors in this fare can change their cabin and voyage date, or cancel for Future Voyage Credit if plans change.

Finally, as part of this change, we’re rewarding Sailors who have made a booking prior to October 7 (the date we introduce VoyageFair choices) — honoring our new Premium and Suite dining booking windows. For these existing bookings, Sea Terrace categories and below will benefit from a 60-day dining booking window (previously only reserved for our suites). As for existing bookings in suites, we’ve increased the dining booking window to 120 days before the voyage.

Nope! Classic WiFi is the same service you’re used to today – offering messaging, social media, browsing and WiFi audio calling.

Our new Basic WiFi offering is a brand new entry-level option offered with our Base fare, offering social media, messaging and limited browsing.

Additionally, Premium WiFi and Work From Sea are still available today for those looking for faster browsing, enhanced calling capabilities and more.

Yes! While you might not snag that exact restaurant at that exact time, there will always be plenty of seats for everyone to dine. Plus, you'll have even more opportunities once you’re on board — whether booking day-of or enjoying walk-in dining where space allows. Great food and memorable meals are guaranteed no matter which fare you choose.

If locking in a specific restaurant at a specific time matters most to you, you might want to sail with Essential or Premium, which offer earlier dining booking windows.

Of course. Following our policies, you are able to make voyage changes up to 45 days prior to your voyage. Contact your travel advisor or Sailor Services to update your booking at today’s rate and offer.

To support our incredible Crew — the ones who deliver unforgettable memories from morning lattes to laundry service — we automatically apply a daily service gratuity of $22 USD per Sailor on board.

Prefer to take care of it in advance? Pre-pay before the voyage begins and pay just $20 USD per night.

No need to tip on board — ever.

Unlike other cruise lines, we don’t add extra gratuities to drinks, spa services, or dining experiences during your voyage. That daily service gratuity is all you’ll ever be asked to contribute — and it supports the entire Crew who bring the Virgin Voyages magic to life.

We keep things refreshingly simple: there’s no need to tip for drinks, dining, or spa treatments during your voyage. Your service gratuity supports the entire Crew, so you can focus on enjoying every moment — without reaching for your wallet after every order.

It’s all part of our promise to make your holiday feel effortlessly inclusive.

Unlike many other cruise lines, Virgin Voyages doesn’t ask you to tip at every turn. While we now show service gratuities as a separate line item for transparency, once they’re taken care of — either at booking or on board — that’s it. You won’t be expected to pay additional tips for drinks, service, or anything else during your voyage.

Absolutely! Under the current policy, you can book The Sea Terrace, Central Sea Terrace and XL Sea Terrace categories across either Base, Essential and Premium.

Base Fares let you choose and secure a specific cabin type when you book. Lock-It-In Rates, on the other hand, work on a guarantee basis — meaning you’re guaranteed a cabin within the category you book (or higher, if you’re lucky with an upgrade), but the exact sub-category and location will be assigned later by Virgin Voyages.

It’s a great value option for Sailors who are flexible — though it does mean your cabin could be in any location within the category, including spots that may be less central or near busy areas. Either way, you’ll enjoy the same stylish Virgin Voyages experience, no matter where you land.
